Discover our newsletter offerDiscover our application for mobile & tabletTeachers fighting against the Blanquer law have equipped themselves with a national coordination tool: the website www.bloquonsblanquer.fr.They are appealing to all citizens concerned by the issue of public schools to support them through the media and financially (via their strike funds).Here is the text of this appeal.This blog is personal, the writing is not at the origin of its contents.We read the appeal “We are not fooled” by the 1400 artists declaring support for the cause of the yellow vests.We read Joël Pommerat's column saying:“I think that school is the right place for an encounter [between art and young people] and even that is its mission.On a personal level, I have been able to see the extremely concrete benefits of these artistic lessons as they were thought out and implemented about thirty years ago.Of course, we could do even better, but what worries me today is the risk that we do less well.(Joël Pommerat, Tribune “Mr. Blanquer, your high school reform will degrade the quality of artistic teaching”, Le Monde, May 11, 2019)To all those who are not fooled and who support the yellow vests in their fight for "a more direct democracy", in connection with the state of ecological emergency:We, education personnel engaged in the fight for the survival of the school of the Republic, we say that it is urgent to oppose projects and laws which, from Parcoursup' to confidence compulsory from the age of three, passing through the end of the baccalaureate and the destruction of the vocational high school, are in the process of giving shape to a school of obedience.Putting students, teachers and establishments in competition with each other, end of pedagogical freedom, suppression of nothing less than the freedom to choose one's training and one's future (!), limitation of the democratic bodies allowing one to give one's opinion as a teacher or of parents on the school… The list is long and not exhaustive, of articles which, hidden behind technical measures, legal jargon and soothing communication, aim to train citizens to obey orders.The government is in a logic of lies when it claims to “modernize” the school.In reality, he is preparing a bill whose foreseeable effects are the establishment of a two-speed school, the commodification of national education and the end of the school conceived as the place of critical thought and emancipation of children, our future citizens.“(...) By their commitment and their exemplarity, the personnel of the educational community contribute to the establishment of the bond of trust which must unite the pupils and their families to the public service of education.This link also implies mutual respect between members of the educational community, in particular respect for students and their families with regard to the educational institution and all of its staff.»Article 1 of this law provides for the imposition, in very Orwellian language, of a “school of trust” in which parents can denounce teachers and teachers can denounce parents.This article aims to silence any form of protest.It has not even been adopted yet that everywhere in France, teachers, high school students and students are repressed with a severity that has no other logic than to permanently lower the head to all those who still dare to look up and dream of a truly just and emancipated society.Everywhere in France, for two years, teachers, parents and young people have risen to say no to this ignominy.Our voice is muffled, our young people brought to their knees.We resist.For how long ?Faced with this logic, pious wishes are no longer enough.War is declared on all the dunces of Prévert and other Tistou the green thumbs.To defend them, we need a strategy -
