Another month, another set of dining deals for hungry South Floridians. September brings Boca Raton Restaurant Month and Flavor Palm Beach. They join Miami Spice and Greater Fort Lauderdale Restaurant Months, ongoing through Sept. 30.

The promotions in Palm Beach County feature multi-course meals at discounted prices at scores of restaurants Sept. 1-30. Boca Raton Restaurant Month, in its third year, currently lists 21 participating restaurants and Flavor Palm Beach, which began in 2008, has a lineup of 54 restaurants.

Lunch prices range from $20 to $29, and dinners cost $35-$45. Tax, tip and drinks are additional. Some restaurants offer wine pairings or premium dishes for a supplement. Some restaurants do not offer the deal on weekend nights. It’s always best to call ahead for reservations. And keep in mind that the opening days could be disrupted by Tropical Storm Dorian.

Here are eight suggestions for good eats. Bon appetit.

Angelo Elia has come a long way since his early days as chef at Burt Rapoport’s original Prezzo. The genial Italian-born chef now presides over a mini-empire of fine-dining restaurants, pizzerias and a bakery. He’s about to open the third South Florida outpost of Casa D’Angelo in Aventura. The Boca Raton Casa D’Angelo, which opened in 2008, remains an elegant and dependable place for elevated Italian dining. The $40 Boca Restaurant Month menu will be offered nightly except Saturdays and includes an appetizer of bresaola with baby burrata cheese, an entree of branzino with crispy oregano and risotto and chocolate molten cake with vanilla gelato for dessert.

171 E. Palmetto Park Road, 561-996-1234, Casa-d-angelo.com, special $40 menu offered Sunday-Friday 5:30-10 pm.

For those who like their restaurants independent and quirky, Fries to Caviar fits the bill. Chef-owner Jimmy Mills opened the eatery in 2016 in a Federal Highway strip mall and it offers something for everyone, from refined caviar on eggs to comforting burgers and pastas. The 3-course, $39.95 promotional menu will be offered nightly and offers an array of choices, with seven appetizer options, seven entree options and four desserts. Diners can start with a tasting of caviar with blinis or bacon-wrapped dates then move on to mains of vegan curry, pork schnitzel, pea-crusted ahi tuna or rigatoni bolognese. Finish with banana cream pie or balsamic-glazed strawberry tart.

6299 N. Federal Highway, 561-617-5965, friestocaviar.com, $39.95 menu available nightly, open 5-9:30 p.m. Sunday-Thursday, 4-10 p.m. Friday-Saturday.

Health-minded True Food Kitchen in Boca Raton features a menu that is friendly to vegans and vegetarians. (Carline Jean / Sun Sentinel)

I’ve been pleasantly surprised by my trips to True Food Kitchen, which I awarded 3 1/2 stars in a 2018 review. Who knew an outpost of a growing chain founded by a wellness guru (Dr. Andrew Weil) located in a mall (Town Center) could deliver so much satisfying flavor? The health-minded True Food Kitchen features a menu that is friendly to vegans, vegetarians and those seeking antioxidants and an anti-inflammatory diet. True Food Kitchen will offer $25 lunches and $38 dinners during restaurant month. As a bonus, dinner comes with a glass of organic wine. Most options are vegetarian, although a grass-fed burger will be offered at lunch. At dinner, diners can start with roasted Brussels sprouts with mushrooms and miso sesame vinaigrette, kale guacamole or herb hummus. For entrees, choose between butternut squash pizza, Mediterranean chicken, lasagna with chicken sausage, or an ancient grains bowl of sweet potato with turmeric, peas, mushrooms, quinoa and farro (which is actually very good). Finish with flourless chocolate cake or chia seed pudding.

6000 Glades Road, Unit 1015A (in Town Center Mall), 561-419-8105, TrueFoodKitchen.com/BocaRaton, special menus offered daily for lunch and dinner, 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday.

I suppose one can call Florie’s at the Four Seasons Resort in Palm Beach a sibling to the “world’s best restaurant,” considering chef Mauro Colagreco has links to both. Colagreco opened Florie’s in late 2018. Earlier this year, Colagreco’s Mirazur restaurant in southern France was awarded a third Michelin star and then named No. 1 in the annual “World’s 50 Best Restaurants Awards," a vote among chefs, industry experts and writers. I have not yet dined at Florie’s, which is expensive, but the buzz has been good. Flavor Palm Beach will give the frugal a chance to taste. The $45 special menu will offer a choice of burrata with pistachios or peach carpaccio with heirloom tomatoes as an appetizer, and Florida red grouper, Atlantic scallops or Australian Wagyu beef as mains. Dessert choices are white chocolate mousse with passion fruit sorbet or chilled fruit soup with coconut ice cream. A wine pairing for $25 is available.

Chef Matthew Byrne worked at some of Philadelphia’s best restaurants before he moved into the private-chef world, and he was good enough to be hired a guy named Tiger Woods. A few years ago Byrne and wife Aliza struck out on their own, opening a homey yet sophisticated restaurant that attempts to create the relaxed vibe of a home kitchen. Kitchen has been drawing raves ever since. The bad news is Kitchen is closed for vacation until Sept. 10. The good news is that for the remainder of September it will offer a $39 Flavor menu. Start with Greek-style tomatoes and cucumbers or crispy eggplant with roasted peppers, burrata, arugula and balsamic vinegar. Entree options are fettuccine with little neck clams, salmon cooked in paper with white beans or simple chicken with truffle smashed potatoes and garlic spinach. Finish with chocolate pie or strawberry shortcake.

319 Belvedere Road, No. 2, West Palm Beach, 561-249-2281, Kitchenpb.com. $39 Flavor menu offered Tuesday-Saturday Sept. 10-30, 6-10 p.m. Closed Sunday-Monday.

Meat Market Palm Beach features filet mignon and Prime steaks. (CORTESIA)

My predecessor called Meat Market Palm Beach “the best steakhouse in South Florida” in a 4-star 2014 review and I’m not in a position to argue since I have never eaten there. Chef Sean Brasel and CEO David Tornek opened the first Meat Market in Miami Beach 2008 before expanding the concept to Puerto Rico and Palm Beach. Other locations are scheduled to open in Tampa (late 2019) and Boca Raton (early 2020). Dining-deal month is always a good time to sizzle with the swells on the island Palm Beach, and you don’t have to worry about a presidential motorcade tying up traffic in September. Meat Market will offer its $45 Flavor menu Monday-Thursday only. Start with ceviche, four East Coast oysters with mignonette, salad, Wagyu beef dumplings or celery root hummus with stir-fried beef. Main choices are 6-ounce filet with fried sriracha onions, 10-ounce rib eye with bone marrow and toast, Wagyu bavette steak with grilled squash and carrot puree or crab-encrusted cobia with charred root vegetables. Additional sides are available for a $5 supplement, including gouda tater tots or truffle creamed corn. Desserts include Fireman Derek’s red velvet cake or vanilla ice cream with salted caramel.

191 Bradley Place, Palm Beach, 561-354-9800, MeatMarket.net/PalmBeach. $45 Flavor menu available Monday-Thursday 4 p.m.-10 p.m.

The Regional Kitchen & Public House in West Palm Beach offers a modern take on Southern cuisine. (South Moon Photography / Courtesy)

CityPlace has undergone a name change to Rosemary Square, but some things at the downtown complex remain the same. Chef Lindsay Autry’s modern take on Southern cuisine is as reliable and delicious as ever. Autry, a disciple of the great Michelle Bernstein, was named a James Beard Award regional semifinalist for Best Chef in the South for a second straight year. The Regional earned a four-star review from Sun Sentinel dining correspondent Claire Perez. For Flavor Palm Beach, the restaurant will offer a $23 lunch menu (except Sunday) and nightly $45 dinner menu, plus 7 percent tax and automatic 20 percent gratuity. Lunch is a great deal, with a starter (tomato gazpacho or housemade pimento cheese), a traditional Southern “meat and two" plate and dessert. Entree options include fried chicken, catch of the day, pork Milanese or vegetables and a choice of two sides such as deviled eggs, greens with peas or mint watermelon and feta salad. At dinner, start with shrimp gumbo or sweet tea-brined fried chicken thighs, then choose among grilled skirt steak with black-eyed-pea jambalaya, housemade pasta with oyster mushrooms or crispy rainbow trout as mains. Finish with chocolate layer cake or orange cream puffs.

651 Okeechobee Blvd. (at Rosemary Square), West Palm Beach. 561-557-6460, EatRegional.com. Flavor lunch menu offered 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday and dinner menu 5 p.m.-9 p.m. nightly (until 10 p.m. Friday-Saturday).

Twenty Twenty Grille in Boca Raton will offer its duck taco with orange margarita gastrique and roasted tomato pico de gallo as part of its $45 Flavor Palm Beach menu Sept. 1-30. (Benjamin Rusnak/Courtesy)

Chef Ron Weisheit and wife Rhonda have owned and operated this intimate and ambitious fine-dining nook since its late 2013 opening and it has earned a legion of followers for its exquisite plating and quality ingredients, including locally sourced produce and seafood. My predecessor John Tanasychuk called it “too ambitious" in a 2014 review, but creative, independent restaurants willing to push the culinary envelope are so few and far between these days that gastronomes may want to try it for themselves. Twenty Twenty opted to take part in Flavor Palm Beach instead of Boca Raton’s promotion so that it could offer a higher-priced ($45), 4-course menu, with an optional wine pairing available for $39. The special will not be available on Friday or Saturday. Start with Colombian chicken soup or grilled kale salad and then move to a middle course of duck duck “taco” with orange margarita gastrique or smoked chicken Coxinha with mascarpone and strawberry-tomato jam. For mains, choose between pastrami-spiced skirt steak, lemon-ginger salmon or Gorgonzola and fig stuffed organic chicken breast. Finish with profiteroles or salted caramel meringue pie.

141 Via Naranjas, Suite 45b (in Royal Palm Place), Boca Raton, 561-990-7969, TwentyTwentyGrille.com, $45 Flavor Palm Beach menu available 5-9 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday and Sunday. Closed Mondays.
