Leave it to Eugenio Suárez to bring some much needed fun to Cincinnati Reds spring training. After the disappointing news on Sunday of Sonny Gray being dealt to the Minnesota Twins, someone needed to lighten the mood. That someone was Eugenio Suárez.

Mark Sheldon of MLB.com posted a picture to Twitter of Geno's new hairstyle. It is, in a word, different. Now, we're used to seeing Suárez with blonde highlights in his hair. We've even seen him go platinum on occasion. But this one takes the cake.

As you can see, Eugenio Suárez is not shy at all about his new hairdo. Geno was caught on camera speaking to, who I believe is, Assistant Athletic Trainer Tomas Vera. My apologies if that's not accurate.

Suárez looks very similar to the Disney villian Cruella DeVil from 101 Dalmatians. The left-half of Geno's hair is dyed silver, while the right-half appears to be Suárez's natural dark brown. Suárez even appears to be wearing a two-tone shirt in the picture as well.

Hey, after the season that Eugenio Suárez endured last season, I'd be fine if he dyed his hair pink or shaved it off completely. The 2021 season left a lot to be desired from the Cincinnati Reds third baseman.

But, now over two years removed from shoulder surgery and without having to re-learn how to play shortstop, perhaps Geno can get back to doing was Geno does best - knocking the cover off the baseball.

Suárez hit below the Mendoza line for the 2021 season, but played very well down the stretch. Over the final month-plus of the season, Suárez slashed an impressive .370/.460/.808 with eight of his 31 round trippers coming during his final 73 at-bats.

Here's hoping that Eugenio Suárez's new hairdo will help the slugger beat his own record and mash 50-plus home runs in 2022. Without Nick Castellanos in the lineup, the Cincinnati Reds will need a big bounce-back season from Geno.
