Rep empowers women, disable persons in Sokoto – The Sun Nigeria

A member representing Tambuwal/Kebbe ‎Federal Constituency of Sokoto State in the National Assembly, Hon. Abdussamad Dasuki, has distributed empowerment equipment to women and physically challenged persons in his constituency.

The programme, which took place‎ at the Kebbe Local Government Area secretariat was attended by party stalwarts of All Progressive Congress (APC).

No fewer than 1,000 women benefited sewing machines, grinding machines and additional three million naira, at thirty thousand naira each to one hundred groups in the empowerment programme‎.

Also, 40 hand-sewing machines and one hundred thousand naira, was given to‎ physically challenged persons.

Similarly, eight generators were distributed to mosques in the two local governments.

Addressing the beneficiaries, the lawmaker said the empowerment items was continuation of his promises to the electorates, during the campaign period.

“What I am doing today is fulfillment of part of my campaign promises, to alleviate poverty by empowering them.

“This is a token of my appreciation to the love shown to me by the people of Tambuwal/Kebbe federal constituency,” he said.

The federal lawmaker recalled that in 2016, more than sixteen thousand people benefited in the two batches‎ of free eye and medical outreach to his constituency.

He also mentioned his efforts in education assistance to students within is constituency and promised that his youth empowerment which had‎ been on, for long, on weekly basis, will continue.

Full of gratitude, beneficiaries‎ expressed their happiness, describing Hon. Dasuki, as a worthy representative.
